Yesterday, my husband and I closed on our new little home away from home, in Florida. We’re from Pennsylvania and have been looking for the perfect property situation in Florida for about 3 years. We almost bought something in Fort Myers last year, but the closer we got to closing, the more uncomfortable we felt with the people we were dealing with and the information they were giving us We backed out of the deal, a bit gun shy, but still wanting to look.
My husband started looking via the internet this past summer and stumbled (thankfully) upon a website. I’m not sure how, but he was connected with Linda McIlroy. He emailed her a request about some properties, and then it began.
Linda emailed us back and asked if she could call to get some information from us. We spoke and filled her in on our situation, what we were looking for, price, location, etc.
From that day on, we received emails from Linda weekly with updated materials. Throughout the summer, we scanned a large variety of properties. We narrowed the specifics down over a phone call, and we were set.
Meeting Linda in person was a treat. She’s a very friendly people-person. There was nothing phony about her and my husband Michael and I truly appreciated that. We’ve worked with the quick sale-type of realtor before, so we knew we had found a gem in Linda.
Our one day with linda was a whirlwind. She took us to several properties and was very prepared for the day. Print outs of each place, mentally loaded with information to answer our questions, telling us about each area, the pros and cons, etc. She was very entertaining and educational as she told us about the trees and plants in the area, also. Michael and I found her totally delightful.
We ended up finding the perfect home that afternoon. And long story is, there were ups and downs getting this place until the very last day. I won’t go on with details, but I will tell you that Linda was with us every step of the way. Always keeping me up to date with phone calls or emails. Always returning my messages in a very timely manner. If she didn’t have the answer for me, she made sure she got me one as quickly as possible.
Linda has gone above and beyond for us. Especially being an out-of-town buyer, Linda became my eyes, ears and advocate throughout the process. She made sure that everything was done accurately and by the laws of real estate, so as not to jeopardize the sale. I really can’t say enough about her. On top oof it al, we felt so comfortable with her, She is so easy to trust and worked very hard for us. She did my walk-through, talked to people at the condo association to get me the proper information, even getting me all the information and phone number for the utilities in our new home.
It may sound corny, but Linda has become more that our agent, She’s become our first Largo friend. She is quite a valuable tool for your company!
